My name is Peter Sedlow. Along with my wife Lindi Leger, we co-own Peter C. Sedlow Associates, a design and sculptural firm. We've produced art from Southern Oregon over the past four decades. With the consent, encouragement and collaboration of Brady Adams' family we are creating a life-size bronze legacy sculpture of Brady Adams.

Remembering Brady Adams
This project is the creation of a Bronze Monument to remember a great idea maker and mover - Brady Adams. This image is the most recent taken of the original life-size clay model I'm currently working on. It will be cast in bronze for this monument. I'm in the image to give you an idea of the size of Brady and the kids. With a little finessing it will be complete and ready to be cast in bronze. There is a section next to the kids for people to sit and feel that they're a part of this fun conversation.
This is a fundraised project and we really need your help. So far we've raised $74,878 with a goal of $132,500. If the full funds are raised by late Spring or Early Summer 2019 we could have this monument cast in bronze and installed in it's final location on 6th Street in Downtown Grants Pass, Oregon (the imagined image above) by the end of 2019.

Our Friend
Through his love for art, Brady met with Lindi and me quite often about projects we were working on with him as well as large sculpture projects we were formulating on our own. During these meetings, we discussed a lot of topics and were fortunate to get to know this generous, gentle visionary and leader in our community. He was genuine. With his passing, we wanted to create a Legacy Sculpture that was more than just a physical portrait of Brady, it had to communicate many facets of this creative thinking jewel of a human being. There were so many facets to fit into one sculpture.

The Facets
In the final sculpture, Brady is having a fun and lively conversation with two children. The children not only represent the future, as Brady felt important, but also his love of children. The boy in the sculpture is a portrait of Brady's grandson and best buddy Sam Adams. There is space on the bench for visitors to sit among them, as Brady enjoyed talking with and listening to people. Brady often called Grants Pass "The Best River Town in America", so we've given the bench the look of water with a waterfall representing the flow of ideas. The city of Grants Pass, Oregon is fully behind the Brady Adams Legacy Sculpture and when this sculpture is completed the city will accept ownership and place it downtown, it will belong to everyone. As Brady felt, a vibrant city center makes for a strong town, a concept many of us have seen Brady put into play often, from which we all benefit.

We Need Your Help
You are extremely important to this whole process! We need your help. The images you've seen above are of a life-size clay model. A monumental bronze sculpture is an intensely complicated construction project. Getting the final life-size clay master model foundry ready in the studio has taken many months. For instance the image to the right is a 1/3 size clay model I made to take many measurements from and create the life-size monument. Once at the bronze casting facility - the process there takes many more months.
All of this work cannot be done without you. This is a true community project, by the people for the people.
Thank you most sincerely for any contribution you make to help the Brady Adams Legacy Sculpture Project become a reality. Please help us spread the word! Together, we can do this. It's kind of a Brady Thing!
Warmest Regards,

We've created a "Making of Brady Adams Legacy Sculpture" page!
Cursor over the title of this page and click on the dropdown. It has images on the "making of" process. There are images of the design, the 1/6 life-size clay gesture study, the 1/3 life-size working model (maquette) for enlargement and the final life-size clay model as it's being formed. It's a very condensed version of a very complicated process. We hope you will enjoy this visual story.
Just above is the Gesture Study and Working Model Maquette.
