The Making of the Brady Adams Legacy Sculpture
We're just beginning this page. We wanted to show people, who are interested in such things, a quick extremely condensed view of the process involved in creating this complex sculpture. We'll go from designing to small study to 1/3 life-size to life-size.

This grouping below shows the gesture study process sequence to get a feel for 3D.
This next group of images will show
the 1/3 life-size (maquette) sequence that will be used for enlarging to life-size.
Maquettes are essential. 1/3 life-size are fairly standard, easier to enlarge from. The point of a maquette
is if a sculpture is completed only in life-size any major changes are an exponentially real big pain.

The next sequence shows the very condensed version of
enlarging to the life-size monument. There is a lot work (and it is work) creating
a three dimensional life-size sculpture and double portrait. It's also worth the effort!

This monument to Brady Adams in the clay master model stage is close to finished. There is still a month or two of finessing eyes, fingers, clothes all the goodies that will make this sculpture the quality that Brady deserves. The quality that Brady was. When that is done the next step is casting this sculpture in Bronze! Then Brady and Sam ( Brady's grandson and best buddy) will be about as forever as is humanly possible. Remembering Brady!
But since this is a fundraised project we also need the funds to get it done. The funding goal is $132,500 and it can't go to the bronze casting foundry until we have the full funding. So please help bring this well deserved beautiful Brady Adams Legacy Sculpture to reality. To contribute send your check to: the Josephine County Historical Society (JCHS), 512 S.W. 5 th Street, Grants Pass, Oregon 97526, please note for Brady on your check!
